Hybrid Bermudas

Hybrid Bermudas are Bermuda grass varieties that eliminate many of the inherent problems of common Bermuda grass. Hybrid Bermudas are greener and denser which creates an attractive carpet-like appearance. They are sterile and produce no pollen and most varieties withstand water stresses better than common Bermuda and repair quickly from damage.

Tifway 419 Bermuda

Tifway 419 Bermuda is one of the most durable hybrid Bermudas in the Southeast. A deep dark green, fine bladed grass, low growing, rapidly spreads and is a disease resistant grass. Tifway 419 Bermuda tolerates low mowing and heals quickly. Tifway 419 Bermuda is the choice of most of the finer golf courses in the Southeast for their fairways. It is ideal for home lawns as well as heavily used athletic fields and commercial areas.

Fescue

Fescue is cool-season perennial grass. Cool-season grasses survive in cold temperatures but suffer in the heat of the summer months of the Southeast. Kentucky-31 tall fescue was the most widely used variety of fescue grasses for turf production. Today there are many improved varieties of turf-type fescues. These improved varieties have finer blades, and much deeper root systems. These improved varieties are usually more disease and drought resistant. Improved varieties will tolerate moderate shade as well as heat, much better than the old varieties of fescue. Generally fescues do not tolerate hot, dry summer weather. Frequent watering is necessary during the hot, dry summer months or your lawn will turn brown basically going dormant during the summer heat.

El Toro Zoysia

El Toro offers the best of both warm and cool season grasses. El Toro is a medium coarse texture grass without seed heads it forms carpet-like turf. El Toro will withstand heavy foot traffic and grows rapidly in hot temperatures. El Toro is resistant to most diseases, will grow in most soil types, requires less water and fewer mowings than other grasses. During winter dormancy, El Toro can be overseeded to provide a green lawn. El Toro is both shade and drought tolerant.
